People living in London have the lowest BMI levels in the UK, so says a map issued on Monday.
Londoners have an average body mass index (BMI) of 26.1, based on people's weight and height ratio, so says a Slimming World table.
The South East and North East have the second lowest body mass index with 26.9.
The East Midlands has the third highest BMI, with an average of 28.9, then Scotland which has an average BMI level of 28.4 and the West Midlands with 28.1, so confirmed the weight loss organisation.
The figures highlight that the average BMI across the UK is in the "overweight" category, 25 to 29.9..
The higher someone's BMI is, the more likely they are to be at risk of developing life-threatening conditions like heart disease, diabetes and stroke .
Poor diets and little exercise have led to a "obesity snowball" effect throughout the UK.
It is imperative for those who are overweight to do something about it before they end up with severe health problems.
