Diabetic meals are going to be offered on premier trains in India .
Indian railways have decided to provide sugar and carbohydrate-free food for diabetics whoo are on train journeys.
Indian railways will first run a small scale pilot programme on a handful of trains, prior to extending the service to other trains.
This catering provision is going to be launched on the Calcutta bound Rajdhani and Duronto trains imminently.
Orders for diabetic meals will be taken at the time the tickets are booked.
A menu for diabetics is not a totally novel idea; diabetic passengers who are travelling in AC-I in certain Rajdhani trains already enjoy this facility.
