The new research meant rats being fed either water or coffee to several laboratory mice.

Coffee consumption stopped the development of high- blood sugar and improved insulin sensitivity in the mice, thus lowering the risk of diabetes .

Coffee also benefits fatty liver and inflammatory adipocytokines related to a lower risk of diabetes .

Further lab studies have shown that caffeine could have one of the most effective anti- diabetic compounds.
