Thu, 02 Sep 2010
Approximately 270,000 Vietnam War veterans are receiving compensation for effects of Agent Orange, including diabetes, so says the USA Department of Veterans Affairs records.

More Vietnam veterans are receiving more compensation for diabetes than for any other condition, including post-traumatic stress disorder, general wounds and loss of hearing.

There are tens of thousands of further claims for common conditions, such as, erectile dysfunction, which is also considered to be linked to Agent Orange, directly or indirectly.

The Veteran Affairs has just stated that it is going to add heart disease, Parkinson's disease and specific kinds of leukemia to the list of conditions which could be connected to Agent Orange, which is going to cost the taxpayer approximately $42 billion over the next decade.
