Mon, 28 Nov 2011
The US Center for Disease Control and Prevention have confirmed that four anti diabetes drug classes, insulins, warfarin oral anti-platelet medications and oral hypoglycemic agents are the drugs most responsible for hospital emergency visits in the USA.

Recent research also asserts that many emergency admissions could be prevented by more effective management of antithrombotic and anti-diabetic drugs.

The researchers discovered that approximately 100,000 adults aged 65 and over seek and receive emergency hospital admissions due this handful of commonly used drugs.

This group of four drugs account for 66 per cent plus of total emergency hospital admissions.

It is clear from these findings that a few medicines can cause serious harm to lots of Americans.

The study has come to light as the Obama administration declares its wish to reduce the number of emergency room visits by 20 per cent plus per year by encouraging people to seek preventative practices.
