Yoga holds great benefits for those with type 2 diabetes.
The findings of a new study illustrate that simple yoga classes pose huge benefits for the health of type 2 diabetics because they can slightly lower body weight at the same time as controlling blood sugar levels.
The study of 123 middle-aged and older adults found that a few pounds of weight loss over three months meant that participants' experienced improved blood sugar levels than non-participants.
It is not suggested that type 2 diabetics sufferers replace existing forms of exercise with yoga, yet that they add some light yoga exercises into the mix in order that they are able to control blood sugar levesl at the same time as losing weight .
The study discovered that all the yoga participants experienced their BMI dropping from 25.9 to 25.4; BMI's of between 25 to 30 are considered overweight .
No physically strenuous yoga is recommended for older people; an especially simple routine is suggested for those with type 2 diabetes who are older or have had previous injuries.
